"Concern for People"
A programme for health-care workers was organised by the Personnel Department where Ms. Bijoya Mishra, DGM (Personnel) delivered a lecture on "Relaxation Technique". An internal resource, Ms. Mishra is an acclaimed Yoga trainer who even practised the technique for about 15 minutes on the heath-care workers like nurses, ward-boys and doctors and it was really refreshing. Dr.OP Agrawal, Director I/C who presided over the meeting and went through the lecture and practice session suggested to have an exclusive session from Ms. Bijaya Mishra for the doctors.

High-speed sterilizer inugurated
A High-speed sterilizer unit was inaugurated in the CSSD situated in OT-1 complex by Dr. O P Agrawal, Director I/C on 17th August 2010. Dr. Agrawal explained the utility of the machine for vital units of the hospital like operation theatre and ICU apart from its use in different wards and dressing rooms.

Project Sneha Inaugirated
'Project Sneha' a co-project of Corporate Social Responsibility Dept. of Rourkela Steel Plant and Dermatology Dept. of Ispat General Hospital has the vision to provide a healing touch to people suffering from leprosy in the steel township. The project was inaugurated by Sri SN Singh, Managing Director of Rourkela Steel Plant on the 63rd Independence Day in Sector-6 Health Centre.

Interaction with patients & their relations
In an interaction session, Dr. SK Mishra, Director & Dr. Indira Mishra took note of the problems faced by patients undergoing treatment for cancer in Ispat Genral Hospital. They assured the patients and their relations to take care of problems from administrative and treatment point of view and encouraged the assembled relatives to form a support group to help each other.

Farewell to Mrs. Anusaya Mohapatra & Mrs. Monika Bose
Mrs. Monika Bose was the Principal of Nursing Training Institute in Ispat General Hospital and Mrs. Anusaya Mohapatra was a senior staff in Emergency Medicine when they both superannuated on 31st of July 2010. Mrs. Mohapatra has immense contribution working in various departments like Medicine, Surgery, Psychiatry and Orthopedics etc before finally superannuating from Emergency Department. A bold and courageous staff who handles patients with real love and affection, she was highly adored by the staff and colleagues. Mrs. Bose joined NTI long back and has risen to lead it for the last 4 years and has taken the institute to greater heights. In a send off meeting on 31st July where Dr. SK Mishra, Durector of Medical & Health Services presided, colleagues recollected contribution made by both in their respective areas and wished them happy post-retirement lives.
