Dr. Mrs. S L Bhanja passes away

Dr. Suman Lata Bhanja passed away on 6th April 2007 at about 5 PM in Escorts Heart Hospital in Delhi. She joined the ranks of IGH some 35 years ago and opted for VRS 4 years back with almost 3 years left for superannuation. A woman with mild manners, no colleague has ever seen her throwing a tantrum or getting into any conflict with anybody. A loving woman she could make anybody her own. Just after she opted for the VRS she had certain heart symptoms for which she underwent aortic valve replacement at Escorts, New Delhi. Within a year she had SBE for which she was treated at IGH and later visited the Escorts Hospital. But the symptoms still persisted and when she visited Delhi this year towards ebd of February, she was diagnosed to have fungal endocarditis. It failed to respond to drugs and she was subjected to a futher valvular replacement surgery when she left for heavenly abode.
Dr. Bhanja, as she was popularly known to her patients mostly worked in the department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology and thousands of mothers in and around Rourkela who have delivered with her help will miss her soothing words. She has left behind Mr. Bhanja who has retired as a senior executive from RSP and a son and a daughter. She has already been mourned by her colleagues in a meeting convened on the occasion of celebrating the World Health Day on 7th April in IGH and Director In-Charge, Medical & Health Services read out a condolence message for the bereaved family. We the members of IGH fraternity deeply mourn the untimely demise of Mrs. Suman Lata Bhanja and pray God to help her family members to overcome the irrepairable loss.

Graceful Dr. Jayshree Das bids farewel to IGH

Dr. Jayashree Das popularly known in a circle in IGH as Jayshree Apa is one of the most graceful and beutiful lady doctors this hospital ever had. After serving this organisation for thirty four and half years she superannuated on 31st March 2007. A strikingly beautiful woman she had the inner beauty to be extremely humane which made her so popular with her staff and clients- particularly the ones from rural areas and jhuggi-jhopdis in and around Rourkela during the last five years when she headed the Family Welfare wing of IGH. We all wish her a happy life following her retirement from SAIL, RSP.
