Obituary: Dr. Dhobesh Chandra Mishra

From Drop Box
Born on 9th February 1945 Dr. Dhobesh Chandra Mishra joined this hospital in 1968 in the department of Psychiatry. Later he completed his MD in the same subject from Calcutta University. A psychiatrist of great repute Dr. Mishra was a great lover of art and culture. He was associated with many socio-cultural organisations of Rourkela. A poet himself he also loved theatre, dance and music and used to take part in dramas staged by IGH staff during his younger days. As he came from a humble background, he could understand the problems of many and was therefore the saviour of many by providing them with the required help. Always happy and loving to colleagues and the staff DCM, as he was popularly called, tended to generate love in others. He superannuated in February 2005 and was working in "Prashanti" a psychiatry hospital he built. A great lover of food, Dr. Mishra suffered from DM for nearly 3 decades and passed away on early hours of 19th December 2009. May his soul rest in peace and may his family members and innumerable adoring well-wishers be provided with enough courage by the Almighty to bear the loss.
