  1. A mile stone in the making of IGH.
If we can collect some more, it can be chronologically arranged. Seventies, eighties, nineties and the recent ones.

Any body wishing to help ??

i am on the scene of IGH in mid 1971;although i recollect most of the persons in the photograph, which only reflects the value system and brotherhood existed at that time,i only could say that during annual function of IMA group photo may be present with few of our colleagues. At any rate introspection of that era gives some pleasure and some pain.Great, Dr Mitra could provide one of the earliest accounts of personalities luv you all, Dr DBDAS

why do you forget to highlight the great tradition of pseudo moralism and nepotism that always prevailed at IGH

    This is an amazing photgraph!
I grew up watching with awe the tremendous respect that was given to these legendary doctors. In many ways my childhood experiences of IGH provided me with the incentive to join medical school. I am so proud that one of my esteemed seniors from PGI Chandigarh, Dr. Saroj Misra is the Medical Director of IGH now.
The awesome services provided by IGH ( 33,000 admissions and over 15 lakhs OPD visits/ year) is a testament to the huge service that is provided by this legendary hospital.

  6. Dr Amit Ghosh is a bright doctor and is a nephrologist. He completed his MD and DM from PGIMER, Chandigarh and at presnt in Mayo, USA. We read many of his contributions in leading journals. The Rourkelites will be extremely happy to meet him and listen to him in any of his future visits to India. We appreciate with great love and affection about his feelings for IGh and Rourkela

Many thanks for the kind comments Dr. Mishra. I do have wonderful memories of Rourkela especially the amazing doctors of IGH and their dedication to work. Dr. Jesthi had taken me on a ward round and I was fascinated to see the huge array of complex patients' that were being managed in IGH. The dedication of the nursing staff was most inspiring. I would rank IGH among the finest hospitals in Eastern India.
I will get in touch with you prior to visiting India ( probably in 2012) and set up a time to visit the hospital that is most inspiring. It will be a great honor for me.
    Best wishes,
    Amit

  10. We lived in Rourkela from 1960-68. My wife was treated by Dr. Bhambry. CMO'S name was not BS Dhillon. It was CS (Chuttan Singh). A good surgeon and administrator.
