Farewell to Major Sahoo and Dr. Surya Mishra

Major Dr. Ganeswar Sahoo is an immensely popular doctor in this hospital and township. This man with a very smiling face is very loving to friends, colleagues and patients and has been an ardent fan of Oriya literatures of yester years. So much so that he singlehandedly has been publishing a quarterly Oriya magazine Jeebanika with contributions from doctors and other medical and non-medical staff of IGH for the last 5 years. A great socialite Major Sahoo excels in helping anybody in need. He joined the Army after doing his MBBS and rose to become a Major and jopined SAIL way back in 1981. He ended his stint today and despite some of his prominent friends being absent from hospital for official work elsewhere, there was a sizable turnout of his colleagues to bid him and Dr. Surya Mishra farewell.
Dr. Suryamani Mishra is a contemporary of Major Sahoo and also joined the organisation at the same time as Major Sahoo. After a stint in a national paramilitary organisation, Dr. Mishra joined RSP in 1981 and at the time of superannuation was heading its Public Health Unit. A popular and friendly person Dr. Mishra was overwhelmingly bidden a fond farewell by colleagues and friends.
