CME for DNB candidates in Anaesthesia

Day-3 Morning session



A Continuing Medical Education Programme for DNB candidates of all SAIL hospitals was conducted in IGH on 14th, 15th & 16th March 2008. It was inaugurated by Dr. O P Agrawal, Director I/C and Dr. P K Rath, Director (M&HS) on 14th March.Prof. P K Mishra, Head of Anaesthesia, SCB Medical College and Prof. Nibetita Pani were the faculties on day-1. Prof. Pani and Prof. RC Samantaray, Head of Anaesthesia in VSS Medical College, Burla were the faculties on Day-2 while, Prof. Samataray and Dr. Sunilkant Kamra of JLN Hopital & RC, Bhillai along with Dr. N P Sahoo of IGH were the faculties on Day-3.On the first 2 days along with various topics being discussed in the Conference Hall, candidates were subjected to clinical examination and were guided in the afternoon & evening by the faculties. On the last day,an interactive session with Dr. D N Mohapatra, DM&HS, Bokaro in chair was held in "Intensive Care Management" as the Concluding Session.

Training Programme for Govt. doctors in Complicated Malaria


A 3-day training programme for Govt. of Orissa doctors from western Orissa in "Complicated Malaria" was inaugurated by Dr. OP Agrawal, DirectorI/C on 26th February 2008 in the Conference Hall of IGH. IGH takes up the burden of treating many complicqated malaria patients every year as the district of Sundargarh is highly endemic for the disease and the faculty for the 3-day programme were drawn from IGH including its Director Dr. P K Rath. Dr. S K Mishra, Haed of Medicine and Dr. Sanjib Mohanty, who are national faculties in malaria with many publications co-ordinated the programme along with Dr. Kindo, the District Malaria Officer.

Special Award for targetted surveillance for AIDS

Dr. Mrs Sucheta Mishra, Dr. M Soren , Sri NC Das and received special awards on 22nd February from Dr. O P Agarwal, Director In-charge of RSP Health Services for their sincere and untiring efforts in identification and intervention in AIDS control measures for special group of people in para-military forces and prisons.
