Training Programme on Complicated Malaria
A 2-day training programme for doctors working in various PHC and CHCs in Orissa on "Complicated Malaria" was conducted in IGH on 23rd and 24th March 2009.

Sister Irashila superannuates
Sister Irashila Lakra after a long 38 years of service to IGH, superannauted on 28th February 2009. She served operation thetres mostly during her long tenure and will be remembered for her handling of patints in agonising condition in Emergency Operation Thertre called OT-4. Colleagues and friends wished Sister Irashila a healthy and hassle-free post-retirement life.

OSASICON-2009-Preconference Workshop-6th Feb 2009
The annual conference of Association of Surgeons of India was held at Rourkela on 7th & 8th February 2009.

A pre-conference workshop was conducted in the operation thetre of Ispat General Hospital on 6th February. Reputed laparoscopist like Dr. Rathindra N Sarangi, Dr. PK Mishra, Dr. from different parts of the country opearted on various types of surgical patients.
The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. OP Agrawal, DM & HS I/C and was telecast live to the Conference hall of IGH.
