World Anaesthesia Day Celebrated
World Anaesthesia Day was observed in OT-II on 16th October 2008. Dr. OP Agrawal, Director I/C and Dr. PK Rath, Director along with Joint Directors and a host of colleagues from Surgical disciplines attended the celebrations with Anaesthesiologists. Dr. Shyam Dhake, Senior Resident presented the history of anaesthesia and Dr. NP Sahoo, Senior Consultant, Anaesthesia conducted a quiz for DNB trainees of Anaesthesia.
1st "PROPAT" seminar
A seminar for doctors was held in Conference Hall on 14th October 2008 in developing pro-patient attitude(PROPAT). Dr. Pk Rath, DM & HS reflected on "Medical Ethics, Quality & Values" While Dr. Shail Verma, head of Psychiatry provided the key note address on developing a positive attitiude towards patients. Similar seminars are also planned for future and will be extended to para-medical staff.

Dr. Minati Choudhury in IGH
Dr. Minati Choudhury, Associate Professor of Cardiac Anaesthesia in All India Institute of Medical Sciences was available to our DNB trainees and faculties as a guest faculty from 7th October 2008 to 12th October 2008. She took classes on various aspects of Intensive Care Management including interpretation of blood gases and ECG along with providing very valuable hands on clinical training in using ventilators.
