Phaco emulsification of the cataract affected lens and fiiting in a foldable lens the eye has been a standard practice in advanced centres.IGH acquired the machines towsrds the fag end of 2003 and our ophthalmologists got trained and started practising it in right earnest from mid-2004. They have operated in this new technique on over 150 patients in 2005 and this was their 3rd camp, the other two being conducted in 2005.Dr. Kushal Chowdhury from Adavanced Medical Research Institute, Kolakata was the Guest Demonstrator for this camp.
