CME in Paediatrics

A 2 day Continuing Medical Education for DNB candidates of Paediatrics was conducted in IGH on 24th and 25th May 2008. With faculties from Jamshedpur, Ranchi and Kolkata, the CME generated high degree of discussions and interaction among DNB trainees.

Camp for "Project Bal Jyoti" on 16th May 2008

A camp was held in Ophthalmology OPD of IGH on 16th May 08 for the visually handicapped children from villages of Sundargarh District to select children with cataract to undergo surgery on 18th June when the project is likely to be formally inaugurated.

Nurses Day Celebrations on 12th May 08


Nurses Day was observed in IGH by the Trained Nurses Association and Nurses Training Institute. The former held the function in the Conference Hall while the later function was held at Civic Centre in the evening. Sri B Singh, Executive Director was the chief guest for the later function while Dr. OP Agrawal, Director I/C and Dr. PK Rath, Director were chief guest and guest of honour at the former function. A tribute to Florence Nightingale and all the nurses for their significant contribution for the ailing human being on her birthday.

Preparation for Project 'Bal Jyoti'

Corporate Social Responsibility of SAIL, RSP & Ispat General Hospital have launched an ambitious project "Bal Jyoti" to help children below the age of 18 regain their vision due to cataract in the whole of Sundargarh District. A preparatory meeting with Director, M&HS, Dr. P K Rath in chair along with representatives from CSR, IGH and District Administration, Sundargarh on 2nd May 2008. The meeting was attended by Mr. D Deb, DGM(CSR), Dr. BB Rao, Joint Director(Ophth) who has taken keen interest in the projectm Dr. R Patel, Sr. Dy. Dir in the department, Dr. Mrs. Usha Dash, Chief Microbiologist, Dr. P Mishra, Sr. DD, Paediatrics, Representatives of the District Administration and many more who will be associated in the project.
