This health camp for poor people was conducted at the instance of another ex-doctor of IGH, Dr. S S Chand. He knew that he would have become the Director of the Medical Services of SAIL, RSP in due course but resigned his post some one and half decade back to don the saffron robe to become a full-time Kriya Yogi and ascetic and serve the people better. Much revered and adored, His Holiness Swami Atmanandaji Maharaj conducts a bi-weekly clinic in Kriya Yoga Dhyana Kendra for the poor people through out the year and conducts a health camp annually. H H Swamiji was kind enough to pose for a photo session with our Directors.

Almost all doctors working in IGH take pleasure in working for people in need through other socio-cultural organisations. It has become a culture for many and doctors who have retired from IGH who are very senior doctors now carry on with such activities. Here Dr. M K Das, Head of Ophthalmology, IGH and Dr. C R Roy(left) who retired from service in IGH last year are seen working in a Health Camp conducted at Kriya Yoga Dhyana Kendra Jagada on 26th February 2006.

Doctors of IGH attending free clinics and health camps in association with NGOs particularly on Sundays is a common feature. Many doctors take pleasure in attending to the needs of our people from villages and slums who may never be able to receive the services in IGH. 27th AISMOC-2006, Durgapur

Doctors of IGH represnting Rourkela Steel Plant took part in the recently concluded All India Steel Medical Officers Conference held at Durgapur and won 4 awards in differrent categories of award sessions. This was the highest by any team at AISMOC 2006 and all the more heartening to the IGH team as this is the best they have won out-side their home turf.
The award winners are:
1. Dr. Sumanta K Senapati- First Prize - Long paper
2. Dr. Arun K Mohanty - First Prize - OHS paper
3. Dr. Sanjib K Mohanty - Second Prize - TQM paper
4. Dr. Indira Mishra - Second Prize - MBBS paper
Besides, team IGH performed immaculately with a very good showing from members who couldn't win and panelists who showed their class in discussions.And it was a hatrick for Dr. Arun Kumar Mohanty who has been winning the coveted OHS paper award continuously for the last 3 years.
